One popular account has it that the sperm carry out a "perilous journey" into the "warm darkness," where some fall away "exhausted." "Survivors" "assault" the egg, the successful candidates "surrounding the prize."32 Part of the urgency of this journey, in more scientific terms, is that "once released from the supportive environment of the ovary, an egg will die within hours unless rescued by a sperm. Above was a passage that I was reading one day just curious about ways of human body and origin of life - just to realise that may be I just painted the journey of a sperm in that warm darkness - nevertheless the darkness that I was painting kept giving me different stories - my job was to surrender - to what was coming to me - without thinking - " hey, this does not fit in my topic or portfolio " - so here's one more from Enlightened Obscurum - Journey of a Sperm .
